May 7-13 is National Hospital Week. During this week, we acknowledge and celebrate hospitals and the women and men who support the health and well-being of their communities through dedication and compassionate care from the heart. According to the American Hospital Association®, this is an opportunity to thank all of the dedicated individuals – physicians, nurses, therapists, engineers, food service workers, volunteers, administrators and so many more – for their contributions.
At Delnor Health & Fitness Center we offer Next Steps fitness programs to bridge the gap between health care and fitness. These programs are designed for those transitioning from or managing a medical condition, or those who may need support to be more active. Participants enroll in this 8-week program choosing one of nine pathways such as Cardiac Fitness. A degreed and certified fitness specialist will perform a health assessment and prescribe an individualized exercise plan based on individual need. Throughout the program, participants engage in two 60-minute supervised exercise sessions per week on the fitness floor led by a fitness specialist. Next Steps participants have unlimited access to the Center’s equipment and facilities, including group exercise classes.
