Peterine Svoboda joined the Delnor Health & Fitness Center because it was becoming increasingly difficult for her to walk and she wanted to manage her diabetes—which at the time she wasn’t paying attention to.
“I decided I have another 20 years in this body, and I want to enjoy them. I needed someone to show me how to eat and how to work out. When you’ve NEVER been a ‘gym-goer’ you don’t know where to start to ‘exercise’.
I’ve followed a lot of weight loss plans so I have picked up a lot of nutritional info but needed someone to help me apply it to my life. I needed help to make smart choices and point out that it’s all a balance. If you deny yourself all the fun foods you end up feeling deprived and binge. Even if you do that, it’s about getting back up and trying again.”
Jason has worked with Peterine to improve her diet and nutrition.
“Jason is the perfect guide on the journey. He seems to really care. He explains the science of nutrition so you understand what happens with food in your body. Jason has helped save my life. I met with Jason twice and he answered my questions and helped me identify what foods to put in my daily menu.”
Peterine started this journey in November 2021 with an A1C of 8.6. As of February 7, 2022 with the help of Jason, working out, and Ozempic medication, Peterine’s A1C is 5.2. Her endocrinologist couldn’t believe it and agreed it’s not all the medication.
“I’ve also lost 50 pounds. I have more energy and am moving much better. I’m also doing more things socially.”
